Medical Assistant Training at Lynwood Community Adult School



The Medical Assistant program is comprised of two modules: Back Office and Front Office. Each module may be taken individually, but you increase your employment opportunities by taking both.

Back Office

In the Medical Assistant Back Office Module you will learn about principles of infection control, diagnostic tests, medications, administering injections and more. Registration for the Back Office Module begins on August 3, 2020.

Front Office

In the Medical Assistant Front Office Module, you will learn secretarial, clerical and reception skills needed to work in the medical front office. Registration for Front Office begins on December 2, 2019.

Class Schedule

Medical Assistant, Monday & Wednesday, 4:50 - 9:15 PM

Medical Terminology, Tuesday & Thursday, 5:00 - 7:10 PM (The Medical Terminology class schedule is subject to change.)

Class Fees

Includes the textbook.

Back Office  $600


Placement Exam - reading comprehension at a 9th Grade level

Front Office - Monday, February 1, 2021

Placement Exam schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday, 9:00 - 11:30 AM & 1:00 - 5:30 PM.
  • The exam duration is about 1-½ hours.

Placement Test Location:

4050 E. Imperial Highway, Lynwood, CA 90262 (@ Lynwood High School).

  • Look for the Adult School office located in the trailers behind Lynwood High School.
  • Alternate entrance is located on Harris Avenue, north of the church (11111 Harris Avenue).


During the day, parking is available on the surrounding streets: Harris Avenue, Elmwood, etc.


After 3:00 PM. student parking is available in the parking garage located on the west side of the Lynwood High School campus (to the right of the entrance when facing the school).
