Ms. E. Banks, Instructional Lead
Hi! I'm Ms. Estella Banks.
I’ve worked at Lynwood Community Adult School since 2000, initially as an English as a Second Language and High School English teacher and as Instructional Lead since 2006.
I have been a classroom teacher, but now as an Instructional Lead, I work closely with our Principal and Assistant Principal, doing "behind the scenes" work that helps the school run smoothly. I also work closely with our awesome teachers to ensure that they have the tools and resources they need to make your experience at Lynwood Community Adult School a great one. In addition, I work with our wonderful students. You may see or talk with me when you register or call our office, when you need some paperwork completed for a program or proof of attendance, or even when you need a listening ear.
Since I’m a bit of a techie, I manage our school's social media accounts, our school website and our student data systems. Hey, do you like us on Facebook or follow us on Instagram? If you don't yet, please go follow us now! www.facebook.com/LynwoodCAS | www.instagram.com/LynwoodCAS)
Originally from Los Angeles, my formative years were spent living in various cities in the western states, as well as Italy and Japan. I graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Business Administration.
My non-work activities include multimedia art, sewing, reading, social media management and tinkering with a website here or there. I am a mother of a college-aged daughter and I enjoy spending time with her cooking, watching our favorite streaming media shows and movies.
My Teaching Philosophy is summed up in this quote:
"Give a human a fish, he/she/they will eat for today. Teach a human to fish and he/she/they will eat for a lifetime."
The bottom line: my goal is to empower you to achieve your goals.
