Ms. Ross-Williams
Biography
I have been in the nursing field since 1976. I completed a CNA program in high school and was employed as a CNA at Long Beach Community Hospital’s Bed and Bath Team. I completed an LVN program and I was employed with St Francis Medical Center. I worked as an LVN and RN there for almost 10 years. I acquired a Nurse Practitioner license and was employed with Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Center, Cigna Health Plan, and the Watts Health Foundation for over 15 years. As time went on, I came to Lynwood Community Adult School as an instructor for the LVN program in 2001. I later worked as a Health Facility Evaluator for the California Department of Public Health and a Nurse Evaluator for the Department of Health Care Services. For the past 2 years, I have returned to Lynwood Community Adult School teaching in the CNA programs. Nursing and teaching have brought great joy and satisfaction in helping and encouraging others to achieve in the field of nursing.
Teaching Philosophy
My thoughts on teaching nursing, students have different learning styles. It is my job to ensure all students learn and understand the requirements of nursing and care for persons who are ill. A good nurse will be honest and respectful, have patience, show confidence in their care, and be dedicated to helping those who cannot help themselves.
