Teacher Biography

I have been a teacher in Lynwood for 23 years.   This is my 2nd year teaching at Lynwood Community Adult School.   I grew up locally, attending high school at South Gate a few miles down the road. I also attended East Los Angeles Community College before finishing up at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

In my free time I enjoy football and outdoor activities (camping, hiking, hunting), although the last couple of years my son’s wrestling tournament schedule has dominated our lives.  I look forward to a positive year as we overcome the challenges together!

Teaching Philosophy

I believe that all students can learn, and they are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. I will assist my students to express themselves to be the best version of themselves they can.  Despite any roadblocks encountered, as a community we can overcome and thrive.

Every classroom has its own unique personality; my role as the teacher will be to assist each student in developing their own potential and learning styles. I will present a curriculum that will incorporate each different learning style, as well as make the content relevant to the students' lives. I will incorporate hands-on learning, cooperative learning, projects,  and individual work that engage and activate students' learning.
