Philosophy

I believe each student possesses their own distinctive abilities, perspectives, and aptitudes. I strive to cultivate an environment that motivates students to attain their utmost potential. By providing a space where students feel at ease, protected, and valued, I ensure every individual has the resources to accomplish their objectives. Though the path may not always be smooth, with support and motivation, we can help student reach their goals.

Biography

My name is Sandra Castelo and  I have had the privilege of serving the students of Lynwood Community Adult School for many years. As an ESL instructor, I have guided learners at all levels, from beginning to advanced, in both traditional and distance learning settings. My educational background includes  a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in School Counseling, as well as a PPS credential. During my time here, I have been honored to be nominated for Teacher of the Year and I have received a Lifetime Achievement Award. My passion for student success continues in my current role in the Career and Counseling Center. Here, I assist students in enrolling in courses, support them in setting and achieving academic goals, provide college and career guidance, and aid them in their job searches. It is deeply gratifying to walk alongside students on their educational journeys.
