Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation Honors Educators with $32,000 in Grants

The Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation (LPEF) awarded more than $32,000 in grants to Lynwood Unified teachers, counselors and principals during its annual reception on Giving Tuesday, recognizing and supporting efforts that enrich students' educational experiences.

During the December 2 event, grant recipients were honored with certificates and checks ranging from $442 to $3,500 to help fund innovative classroom projects and schoolwide initiatives designed to strengthen learning environments, spark creativity, boost academic success and support student well-being.

“The Foundation is deeply committed to its mission to uplift educators and expand transformative opportunities across Lynwood schools, delivering innovative programs that ignite learning and empower every student to thrive,” LPEF Executive Director Elsa Chagolla said. “We want to thank our supporters for making this grant program possible.”

This year, LPEF awarded 44 Teacher Mini-Grants to Lynwood Unified educators. Highlights include:

  • Lynwood High School’s Art Exhibit: Showcases student artworks in a school exhibition to celebrate creativity and artistic expression.
  • Lindbergh Elementary’s Victory Gear: Provides age-appropriate sports equipment to prompt student engagement, physical activity and a sense of pride in their athletic opportunities.
  • Will Rogers Elementary Building Strong Minds Through Hands-On Learning: Promote problem-solving and critical thinking through interactive STEM and collaborative learning projects.

In addition to the Mini-Grants, LPEF awarded three School Grants to support schoolwide initiatives that enrich learning environments for students and staff. They include:

  • Lynwood High School’s Knightly Rewards Fund: The Knightly Rewards Fund will strengthen school culture and boost engagement by expanding Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) H.O.N.O.R. incentives and staff appreciation activities.
  • Roosevelt Elementary’s Basic Needs Center (RBN): The RBN Center will support students and families by providing essential items like food, clothing, hygiene products and school supplies in a confidential, stigma-free space that promotes well-being and academic success.
  • Vista High School’s SOAR with Success: This initiative will build a positive school culture where vulnerable students are regularly recognized and celebrated.

Founded in 2015, LPEF brings together business leaders, donors, alumni and educators to invest in Lynwood’s public schools. Lynwood Unified extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who make these programs possible and congratulates this year’s grant recipients for their dedication to cultivating excellence at Lynwood.
