Lynwood Adult School Showcases Drone Technology, Healthcare Training Programs at Annual Fair

Lynwood Community Adult School (LCAS) hosted its second annual “What’s Next” Career Technical Education (CTE) Fair at Bateman Hall on January 9, providing participants with community resources and a glimpse into the various career training programs available to adult learners – from healthcare and engineering to business and drone technology.

“We want to make sure students have the tools and knowledge they need to succeed, and we are excited to showcase how they can achieve their career goals through our innovative offerings,” Principal Shamell Wilson said.

LCAS offers more than 12 programs designed to help adults kick-start their career journeys and explore pathways toward their future professions. These programs include careers in the medical field, technical trades and child development. This year, LCAS highlighted its newest additions –  HVAC Inspection and Drone Pilot Certification programs.

“We also invited several community partners to share the different resources available, including housing, mental health, childcare, and transportation to support with tuition and fees,” Wilson said.

The CTE Fair featured interactive activities such as blood pressure readings and glucose testing, giving LCAS students hands-on experience while showcasing to the community the practical skills they could gain by enrolling in the programs. Participants also had the opportunity to engage with instructors and ask valuable questions about their options, reinforcing LCAS's commitment to preparing individuals for success at any stage of their lives.
